• Install a Rain Tank or Barrel to catch the water off your roof.
• Outfall the the tank or barrel to a small or large pond.
• Outfall the pond into an underground infiltration pit.     

The benefits of this system downstream are tremendous as the less water we send across the surface of the ground the less sediment we send to the streams and Bay.  This helps Sub Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) from being covered up and prevents Oyster Beds from becoming covered up with sediment which destroys them.  The more water we can put into the ground and recharge the aquifers which feed the streams and keep a steady supply of fresh water going to the Bay,  will lessen the harmful effects of foreign Oyster Diseases by diluting the high salinity levels that Dermo and MSX thrive in.  Sediment Pollution and High Salinity in the Bay are two of the biggest problems for the Oysters.  If the Oysters could make a full recovery they could filter out all the extra nutrients in the bay that causes the dissolved oxygen problems that results in fish kills and poor water quality.   Please let us help you do your part.
